Accredited by esteemed organizations such as the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP), The Association of Animal-Assisted Intervention Professionals (AAAIP), and recognized as an American Kennel Club (AKC) evaluator, we specialize in training a diverse range of animals. Whether you have a pet, working canine, assistance animal, therapy dog, first responder assistance k9 or service dog, we cater to all breeds and ages with our comprehensive training programs. .

In contrast to many other trainers and service dog organizations focusing solely on veterans, we specialize in training service dogs to assist individuals with non-combat-related traumas, mental illnesses, disabilities, and other challenges. As certified AKC evaluators, we offer a comprehensive range of training programs, including the Canine Good Citizen Programs, Puppy Star Program, Virtual Home Manners titles, and various Trick Dog titles for your dog's development. Additionally, Black Pirate Pup Co. actively collaborates with local fire rescues, police, and SWAT canine departments to provide essential K9 CPR, first aid, and trauma classes. Our mission extends beyond training; we are dedicated to educating all working canine handlers on proper care techniques to minimize casualties in their respective fields.

MYCAELA MCCORRY

Owner Founder | Head Trainer | Service Dog and Animal-Assisted Intervention Specialist
Mycaela McCorry is an accredited dog trainer through the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP), an American Kennel Club (AKC) Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, and a member of The Association of Animal-Assisted Intervention Professionals (AAAIP). She is a certified Pet Partners Therapy Animal Evaluator, registered therapy animal handler, and deployable in Animal Assisted Crisis Response.
Her professional training includes canine CPR and first aid certification through Trikos Team Dog Training, certification in canine massage, Trauma Healing Practitioner Levels I and II, and advanced study in pet psychology, canine communication, and behavior. Her work integrates service dog development, public access standards, trauma-informed practice, therapy animal evaluation, and canine wellness.
With a foundation in working-dog sport and service dog training, Mycaela has developed specialized expertise in task-trained service dogs and animal-assisted interventions. She serves as Senior Head Trainer for a nonprofit organization training service dogs for veterans, where she has expanded her work in disability mitigation, handler education, and trauma-responsive support programming.
In addition to leading Black Pirate Pup Co, Mycaela works alongside her husband and co-owner Gabriel in supporting K9 TECC and canine casualty care instruction for law enforcement and fire rescue professionals, bringing together companion, service, and operational canine disciplines under a uniquely integrated training philosophy.

GABRIEL MCCORRY
Co-Owner | Operations Handler | Canine Tactical Care Instructor | Decoy
Gabriel is a first responder, firearms instructor, and co-owner of Black Pirate Pup Co. With years of experience working alongside canine handlers since 2016, he brings a rare crossover of emergency medicine, tactical field knowledge, and practical dog handling to the team.
As a paramedic and LEO, Gabriel helps instruct K9 TECC and canine casualty care for law enforcement and fire rescue agencies throughout Florida, teaching handlers how to stabilize and care for injured working dogs in the field.
Within Black Pirate Pup Co, Gabriel supports operations, assists with advanced handling and decoy work for working dogs and dog sport, and helps reinforce the structure, neutrality, and reliability expected of our trained dogs. His calm presence, operational mindset, and deep care for the dogs make him an integral part of the team.

Kate Weihl
Apprentice Trainer/ Dog Walking Division
Kate is an Apprentice Trainer and Dog Walker with Black Pirate Pup Co. who brings a natural love for animals, the outdoors, and an active lifestyle into her work. She thrives in environments filled with fresh air, movement, and happy dogs, often finding her best moments near the beach or under the Florida sunshine.
Currently in graduate school studying therapy, Kate has developed a strong foundation in care, connection, and understanding individual needs—both human and canine. She is known for her patience, attentiveness, and calm, positive energy, which allows her to create a safe and enjoyable experience for every dog in her care.
With a background in fitness, Kate prioritizes movement and engagement, ensuring each walk is not only safe and structured, but also enriching and fun. As part of the Black Pirate Pup Co. Apprentice Trainer Program, she upholds previous training standards during walks, maintaining consistency and reliability for every client.
Kate is dedicated to providing dependable, compassionate, and energetic care, ensuring every dog receives the attention, exercise, and sunshine they deserve.
Kayla Brown
Apprentice Trainer/ Dog Walking Division

Kayla is an Apprentice Trainer and Dog Walker with Black Pirate Pup Co., currently studying biochemistry on a pre-veterinary track with a lifelong passion for working with animals. As part of the Quiet Precision Method™ program, she is training under a structured, standards-driven approach while also cross-training with a veterans service dog organization, developing a strong foundation in real, reliable dog work.
Her experience extends beyond training sessions, with hands-on involvement helping care for animals on her sister’s farm—where daily structure, awareness, and responsibility are essential. This background directly shapes how she handles every dog: with intention, consistency, and respect for their environment.
Within the Black Pirate Pup Co. Dog Walking Division, Kayla focuses on maintaining the standard each dog already knows—reinforcing structure, safe handling, and calm, controlled movement in real-world environments. Whether it’s a structured walk, a run, or an adventure outing, she prioritizes mental engagement, physical fulfillment, and alignment with each dog’s training.
Kayla is committed to delivering dependable, structured, and attentive care—treating every dog as her own while upholding a higher standard in every interaction.

Zara Blue vom Rohaus is the heart behind Black Pirate Pup Co and a defining force in the philosophy that shapes its training. A working-line German and Czech German Shepherd Dog, AKC and UKC registered, Zara is a fully task-trained service dog partnered with head trainer Mycaela McCorry and carries eight titles reflecting advanced obedience, temperament, and working ability.
While accomplished in schutzhund-based obedience, public access work, and advanced trick training, Zara is equally known for the qualities that cannot be titled—her empathy, intuition, and remarkable steadiness with both people and dogs. Through her work as a registered Pet Partners therapy dog and Animal Assisted Crisis Response team, Zara serves in hospitals, schools, first responder settings, and community outreach, offering comfort and connection where it is needed most. She is also the beloved face of the Read With Me program, helping children grow confidence and joy through reading beside a trusted canine friend.
As Black Pirate Pup Co’s primary demo dog and ambassador, Zara helps evaluate and mentor future service dogs, supports public access and confidence-building training, and regularly assists in K9 casualty care demonstrations for first responders. Her presence has shaped countless dogs in training and inspired much of the relationship-centered approach behind the Quiet Precision Method™.
More than a service dog, Zara represents the standard, heart, and mission of the brand—intelligence with gentleness, precision with compassion, and working ability anchored in trust.

FREYA OZBECCA MCCORRY

Freya Ozbecca McCorry—affectionately known as The Desert Dingo—is an AKC-registered German Shepherd and Belgian Malinois mix whose athleticism, intuition, and gentle steadiness have made her a defining part of Black Pirate Pup Co. With the heart of a nurturer and the drive of a working dog, Freya blends sensitivity and strength in a way that shapes both dogs and people around her.
As a trusted demo dog and mentor to dogs in training, Freya helps develop future service dogs through neutral social exposure, confidence-building, and calm structured learning. Her natural softness with insecure or younger dogs has made her especially valuable in helping prospects grow trust, resilience, and environmental stability.
Freya has earned all AKC Canine Good Citizen titles and continues advancing in obedience and Search and Rescue foundation work. Alongside her canine sister Zara, she supports public access training, temperament development, and K9 TECC and canine casualty care demonstrations for law enforcement and fire rescue professionals.
Nicknamed The Desert Dingo for her adventurous spirit, keen awareness, and wild-hearted intelligence, Freya represents a unique balance of drive and gentleness. Within Black Pirate Pup Co, she is more than a demo dog—she is a teacher, a stabilizer, and part of the living heart behind the brand.

Luna is an AKC registered sweetheart with the softest velvet fur, the gentlest soul, and a heart as big as her personality. She thrives on outdoor adventures, beach days, zoomies through the yard, squeaky toys, and relaxing with her favorite bones after a long day of fun.

Known for her affectionate and easygoing nature, Luna is incredibly social with both people and dogs, bringing a calm, loving presence everywhere she goes. She especially adores spending time with her brother Koda, and the two are rarely far apart. Whether she’s out exploring, cuddled up beside her handlers, or helping create a positive environment around other dogs, Luna’s sweet temperament and steady energy make her an unforgettable part of the team.
FREDERICK BOLTIMORE MUTANT BROWN "BOLT"

Bolt is a charismatic rescue Belgian Malinois with a larger-than-life personality, endless enthusiasm, and a heart full of love for both people and dogs alike. Known for his playful spirit and goofy charm, Bolt never turns down a pup cup, an adventure, or the chance to make a new friend wherever he goes.

Whether he’s out training, exploring new environments, or tagging along to school with his mom, Bolt brings contagious energy, confidence, and affection into every space he enters. As a demo dog in training, he helps showcase the importance of structure, engagement, relationship-building, and consistent communication in dog training. His natural drive and eagerness to work make him an incredible example of how training can channel energy into focus, confidence, and teamwork.
